Kindred to the High Elves, the Wood Elves mainly inhabit Telaras, which includes all of the Verduallan forest that lies within the Fadelands (the Middle Kingdom). Of course, a great deal of the ancient old-growth forest shifts back and forth between the Fadelands and the Feywild, changing its character and indeed, its ownership in accordance to the ancient pacts. Both the Eldar peoples can sense when they pass from one to the other.
Wood Elves build few permanent structures, save for the stone fortresses that guard the Morduras (Battle Plains) between Verduallan and the desert of Urruk to the West. Their capitol Deladras is a network of treehouses build around gargantuan redwood trees, combined with a network of underground caverns that wind in and out of the massive root structures, down to the grottos of the subterranean aquifers. The Elves deal more with the other mortals of the Fadelands than do their High Elf ‘cousins’, trading with caravans from the southern lands of Tarq and Laric, as well as with the Tribes of Korstraad and the Vistrian farmers who have spread into Korros land. In truth, the Wood Elves need little from outside, but they understand the importance of trade in tying together the good peoples of the world, and they know how important their support is to the harried kingdom of Vistria.
